I went to a Gamestop to turn in a Playstation 2 slim that I had put towards a full preorder of Bayonetta for my brother to go with the 360 I bought him.
I noticed this raggedy looking kid that was poking around, looking real excited, and he turns to his mom, who’s wearing a grey sweatshirt with cigarette burns and grey sweatpants, obviously super poor. The kid goes “Oh wow, mom, look how cool this one looks!” and he picks up a copy of Gitaroo Man, for the PS2. I was pretty impressed, because that’s probably my second favorite game of all time.
His mom says, pretty gruffly, “That don’t look like it’ll fit in your Gameboy. That’s what we came here to get.” I guess they were Christmas shopping early. It made me kinda sad because the kid looked to be maybe 9 or 10, and he didn’t believe in Santa anymore. The kid looked kinda sad and put it back, then started staring at which GBA game he wanted.
I’ve been pretty depressed for the last couple weeks, but I was kinda happy that this was something I could do something about. So, I did. I turned around and bought the copy of Gitaroo Man, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Gungrave: Overdose (some of my favorite games) then I handed him the bag full of everything, the PS2, the two controllers I had with it and the games. He looked at me and asked why I did and told him, “Because Santa sent me.” And then I looked up at his mom and his mom was crying, and that made me cry, and I left Gamestop a blubbering mess.
Felt fucking great, man.

Now I feel like a complete piece of shit.
They just elected their first female prime minister. And a left-wing prime minister at that.
Det gjorde ni godt!
Porn…porn, porn, porn…politics, politics, art & design, funny, music, porn, selchie’s pictures of natives from around the world.
Not only does it break a pattern but it really freaks me out going from “Ooooh, I like you” to “Look at the lil’ guy, he has a freakin’ bone in his nose! AWESOME!”
Client: “Can you make the headline semi-bold?”
Me: “Semi-bold?”
Client: “Yes. Bold is too bold and unbold isn’t bold enough. I think it needs to be semi-bold.”
Me: “… I can bold every other letter.”
Client: “I don’t need to know the technical details, as long as it’s semi-bold.”
You troll.
What a truly Christian approach. And I don’t mean that in a smarmy way, I really think most Christians have the same shitty, anti-intellectual, attitude you have you pathetic trained bigot. You are such a sad case, you really are. People like you are so frightened of their own thoughts that they…
I completely agree with you. I don’t mind organised religion, (well I don’t mind RELIGION, fuck it being organised) as long as it doesn’t hurt others and block progress.
Let me clarify my post for the atheists who messes with my inspiring blog and to more atheists joining themselves here.
So making fun about other’s faith makes you happy? I just told you bluntly the truth where we’re headed.
@reflux,and more of you, yes, there is HELL, and you’ll be one of them if you can’t believe that there’s an enormous supernatural force that’s controlling this planet: good and evil, but evil will lose. You’ll be just billions or trillions in there. By the way, pretty cool, you’re taking up a medicine course. So what’s the sense of your studying if you believe you’re a mere moving, living object on this earth which is perfectly round(oblate you may say), constantly moving with other planets, perfectly on place created by a BIG BANG or whatsoever mere human’s theory that are NEVER CERTAIN?
I’m not mad, you just made me prove my belief which is so obvious – even seen in your own body. How come every part of it made perfectly, put on the right places, functional, every organ essential? You know what, I see everybody as beautiful, wonderfully crafted by a magnificent supernatural God, and I hate telling it to you. Well if you believe you came from monkeys, or from dirt, I don’t have anything against that anymore.
I’m not just sure if when I’m already in heaven God would let me see you being in hell but I could care less about it. What I’m certain of is you’ll be there. And remember me when you get there. The name is Micah, sweet and tough, living the ironically hard and beautiful life of a Christian – coz I won’t remember you in heaven coz heaven is pure, there’s no hatred, any bad memory, tears, pain or darkness. By the way, before you be dragged by demons, you can’t face and tell your Creator one day that nobody warned you about this. Scientists just can’t answer everything coz they’re not smarter than their creator whose infinite power and wisdom cannot be grasped by us mere creations.
You’re pitiful because you’re in bondage of darkness and fear.
I’d like to eat what I say that you’ll be eternally damned when you realize the reason of your existence one day,if ever. I hope you find a sense of still waking up and living tomorrow. I’ll be praying for you.

(I’m not open for debate. I’ve said everything I have to say here. Fools won’t get enough. I’m not mad at anybody. Actually I love you all with the love of my Lord. PEACE)
With the utmost respect, your body is not perfect and every shred of evidence points towards an evolved being - even the Catholic church has admitted this. You have organs you don’t use such as your appendix and poorly “engineered” ones like your eyes. Nerves and blood vessels pass in front of your optic nerve blocking your view. Your eye even focuses the image backwards and your brain corrects this itself, the eye is a very poor example of perfection. The reason it can appear that the human body and other organisms were carefully created is because any traits a species has that is detrimental to their survival usually kill it off. Only the animals with traits beneficial to survival in their environment continue their family line, and thus pass on these traits to their offspring.
Pray for me all you want. If it makes you feel better I honestly don’t mind. I won’t belittle your beliefs but if someone’s religion affects my life then it becomes my politics and I’m free to confront them. Just don’t destroy anyone’s democracy by thinking you can teach that garbage over science in a science class. Religious education, sure, but teach kids about other religions too because this is vital to understanding the world we live in.
There are many religions in this world, and you can’t all be right.
This upsets me. Not only am I passionately anti nuclear power, but who the hell thought it would be okay to let someone mine uranium in an area that is not only full of places that are sacred to the Saami, but also vital to the reindeer…
I’m not going to shit on your point of views because they aren’t the usual whackjob rhetoric you hear, it actually seems like some sort of thought process has gone on there. Namely logic. The only difference between your logic and mine is what we use it to justify, or what means are acceptable to the end.
I think that the safety of the plants is nearly always commendable. Chernobyl should never have happened but the clean up operation was phenomenal. Had the Russians not addressed the issue when they had with brave souls like the liquidators there are projections that apparently said Europe would have been completely uninhabitable. With that said, there was also allegedly a larger meltdown in the Urals but it was contained within a certain area because of the mountain ranges.
However, when it’s done right like in Fukushima’s case a nuclear plant will survive one of the most horrific earthquakes ever witnessed on Earth then take the brunt of a tsunami and have the only reason it began to melt down was the fact that some asshole cost cut and didn’t put the diesel generator above ground in a fucking tsunami zone. Clearly the safety is unmatched when done properly.
To get the same amount of power we’d have to build so much more wind turbines and other renewables. Really they don’t produce anything on the same scale. I think the real way ahead is a combination of renewables with cleaner nuclear power.
Things like Thorium power are something to consider because the amount of energy involved is so much more, but the reason it’s not really in use is because it’s a lot harder to make bombs out of. Go figure. Had the leading nations put money in this it would be a lot cheaper than it is today, but as it stands it’s still on the sidelines requiring research before it goes full scale. It’s also a lot cleaner, and if the right infrastructure was set up it’d probably be cheaper too.
I think though that reducing coal and gas emissions certainly reduces our reliance on foreign powers as well as oil because we still use a lot of it for energy to power our society and not just our cars.
I’m glad that you’ve noted that radiation can be dangerous rather than is. It seems that human resistance to radiation may be higher than people have generally believed. Radiophobia is a terrible thing.
Nuclear in itself isn’t a bad thing but perhaps a shake up is needed due to the entire nuclear industry existing primarily to create nuclear weapons.
Geothermal is definitely something I’d like to see us tap into though, as well as solar. A friend of mine is actually working on his PHD primarily on dyes to be used in harnessing solar power which is another thing which if we can just crack it would be massively beneficial to all.

It was a chilling message: Two bodies with signs of torture found hanging from a pedestrian bridge in the border town of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
Two posters left near the bodies declared that the pair — a young man and woman — were killed for denouncing drug cartel activity on a social network.
Bloggers who specialize in sharing news about trafficking have been threatened in the past, but this could be the first time that users of such social networks have been targeted.
The effect of such threats could be chilling, as several areas in Mexico — including Nuevo Laredo — have media outlets that self-censor out of fear of retribution by the cartels. In light of this censorship, blogs and social networks such as Twitter have surged as alternatives to keep citizens informed of dangers in their community
Whenever I see your avatar I want to go and watch that David Attenborough video where they accept him and the crew into the clan and clean them.
Also, it’s a very calming image to see.
This upsets me. Not only am I passionately anti nuclear power, but who the hell thought it would be okay to let someone mine uranium in an area that is not only full of places that are sacred to the Saami, but also vital to the reindeer herding communities in the area?
Arses.
Why exactly are you anti-nuclear? Curious.
Completely misread “Swedish” as “Scottish”…
It’s 4AM…
You suck rotten ogre balls.
Would of thought you’d be all for the SNP bud. Lemme guess, you’re a Green or are you all cynical and dead inside like me? Haha!
