I have to disagree with ya, Rosseh. We don’t live in a conscription state, people volunteer to join the Army, with full knowledge of what they’re getting into. I don’t feel sorry for soldiers who choose to take part in an army they knew was at war and would be shipped off to.
That’s entirely different than saying “Oh, now you’re kids are all going to die and we’ll all be proven right lolololololololol.”
The horrible thing is I actually distance myself from the whole anti-war movement, despite actually supporting the cause because they’re usually so fucking starry-eyed and elitist they completely lose the plot altogether.
I don’t weep whenever a soldier dies for just the reason you stated, but I don’t like seeing them die either.
The poster’s a bit late as well. The Iraq War ended within 2 weeks in 2003. The damage has been done, and the point is moot.
